Ten Ton Hammer Delivers the Ambulation Sauce

Ten Ton Hammer delivers some prime Walking in Stations footage straight from FanFest. There's some really awesome stuff here. I think my biggest concern so far is the animations, some look pretty good, some look a little stiff, hopefully they'll smooth them out before they launch it. None-the-less, really amazing and impressive, can't wait to try this out.

FanFest Images Incoming!

FanFest is here! And we've got the images to prove it. Ardon Gareau sent me these images he captured from a YouTube Video of the ambulation presentation today from FanFest. They're pretty low quality, hopefully later we'll get some more info, and more quality footage of the hands-on demo. One thing that's been mentioned so far is that the animations look pretty terrible, my guess is because the system isn't ready yet, or they're working out some kinks, at any rate, it still looks pretty good. Enjoy. I'll post more as I find it.

1 Year - Still Around

Well, it's been almost a year since I last made a news post, I can assure anyone who's reading that I'm still alive, I've just been busy. Recently I successfully convinced the majority of my friends to join EVE (FINALLY!), and we've been having a blast, we restructured the corp to accommodate the new members, and we're all working hard and biding our time until Ambulation's introduced. That's when we all believe the game will truly open up and become the deep, dark sci-fi world that we imagine it to be.

Juicy Ambulatory Morsels

I just unearthed these juicy new morsels of Ambulation concept art... and wow, just wow. there's also another article over at Ten Ton Hammer with more info about Ambulation, I think some of their facts might be off... but it's still a good read.

EVE Fan Fest 2007 Ambulation Info

I just read through this article over at MMORPG.com and this article at WinterBlink.com about the Ambulation info revealed at Fan Fest 2007. The article mentions the complexity that will come with the facial customizations, adding wrinkles and other deco to the character faces, it's all pretty amazing, also the fact that you'll be able to set your characters mood, or emotional state, and that will affect all of the emotes that you activate, if you set your mood to "sad" and then you wave, your wave will look sad... very interesting and innovative features for the role-player in all of us.

Forums Updated and Upgraded

I updated the forums with the latest release, I also finally am happy with how they're styled, I removed a lot of the images that I had put in and tried to make work. They're simpler now, more like the official EVE forums. I know I'm usually the only person that posts in them, but if you find any of the info therein to be useful, let me know. Thanks.

Trinity Newsletter

Well, most everyone has received the new EVE newsletter, I gotta say, I'm always happy to receive these little gems, they're always so pretty and inviting, whoever designs these does a fantastic job. If you didn't get the newsletter, it's available online, just click the image below. They're planning on updating the graphics engine this November, so far as I've seen, there's no hard date set, but November is supposedly the "magic month".

I'm Back

Sort of, I decided to mess around a bit with the layout so that it'd at least play nice with IE. You'll notice that I've moved the sidebar over to the left of the site, I'll be implementing a few other graphical changes in the next few days/weeks. I'll also be joining EVE once more and re-subbing my account, as well as upgrading my computer to see all the shiny new ships in the upcoming expansion, I'm specifically looking forward to seeing the new Malediction model, but I'm biased.

Awesome News From CCP At GDC

Well, just a small news update while I've got some time. I've been reading up on some of the goings on at the Game Developers Conference. CCP devs have been talking about upcoming additions to the game and some of them are pretty mouth-watering. Sometime near the end of this month, CCP and Vivox will be finally implementing Voice Chat, which sounds pretty awesome. Initial reports are saying that it'll most likely be a $10 per year service... sounds fair to me.

Next, and I know Frank's gonna appreciate this news with me. It looks like GamersInfo.net is reporting a Linux client as soon as 3 weeks from now, and a Mac client coming sometime this Summer! Finally, I can stop booting onto the Windows side of the MacBook Pro! I think this'll be an awesome reason to stick with Macs for me. The best OS, and now the best MMO, it's really a win/win situation.

Found A Couple More

I found a few more nice high res pics of a new Caldari Station. I have to say I'm really impressed at their level and attention to detail. I hope they put this much effort into characters inside stations. These new models are actually better than you see in most single player games. I'm anxious to see how these new models affect the system reqs of EVE, I'm not really worried, just curious.
